Course 1: Kitchen Basics

When it comes to cooking knowing your way around the kitchen is the first step. In the first part of this course, we will show you the fundamentals of cooking you need to know in order to create delicious meals.

 

We will start with the basics from terminology to learning how to read a recipe.

Before we start, please understand food and kitchen safety. Watch the video attached and learn the basic safety protocol as well as the dos and don’ts before you begin cooking.

 

Keep in mind:

NEVER leave open flames, boiling or frying pans/pots unattended. Be vigilant and focus when cooking to avoid fires. If you have small children don’t forget the kitchen is a dangerous place, always exercise caution.

 

When cooking, try to wear comfortable clothing that aren’t too loose. Loose long sleeves can get caught in the flames etc... and cause bodily harm to you.

 

Remember knives are sharp practice proper knife usage to avoid cuts!
