Stirred:

Vodka Martini

  • 2oz Vodka

  • 1oz Sweet or Dry Vermouth (half and half of each is known as a “Perfect” Martini) Cointreau (or any orange liqueur).

Directions:

  1. If you don’t have a chilled cocktail glass, fill one with ice and water and set aside to chill while you assemble.

  2. Fill a mixing glass with ice.

  3. Pour vodka and vermouth(s) over ice. With your bar spoon, stir your cocktail until you mixing vessel is well chilled and frosted. Note: stir gently with the bar spoon plunged all the way to the bottom of the glass. Stir Clockwise or counterclockwise. Not up and down/in and out of the glass. We don’t want to create ice shards only chill the ingredients.

  4. You are now ready for your glass. Dump out the ice and the water.

  5. This is our own little extra special addition: Rinse (do you remember “rinse” from your mixology terms?) your glass with a little Cointreau (or orange liqueur).

  6. Strain finished cocktail into your glass.

  7. Garnish with a lemon peel or olives (or both!)

Shaken:

Cosmopolitan

  • 2oz Vodka 1oz Cointreau (or orange liqueur)

  • 1oz Cranberry Juice Cocktail

  • 1/2oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice Lemon or Orange peel for Garnish

Direction:

  1. If you don’t have a chilled cocktail glass, fill one with ice and water and set aside to chill while you assemble.

  2. In a mixing glass with ice, combine vodka, Cointreau, cranberry and lime juices. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds until ingredients are incorporated and well chilled.

  3. Fine strain into your pre chilled cocktail glass. Express the lemon or orange peel over the top of the cocktail. This would be a great time to practice your flaming orange peel skills! Please use caution when using flame.
